The Housing Support Worker role will allow you to learn about how housing supports work in practical terms and will enable you to develop the skills required to work effectively with our residents. You will be able to adapt your approach to suit a variety of situations and individuals. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in working with residents that may have been vulnerably housed in the past.
As a Support Worker, you will work collaboratively with residents ensuring that each client is provided with person centered support and empowered to make changes in their lives, including linking them in with the necessary external agencies.
To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people. You will also have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes. Above all we are looking for a motivated, committed individual who has a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

Qualifications
- Diploma in a related Human or Social Services field is preferred
- At least one (1) year experience working in a related environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Preferable experience in the community social services sector with working knowledge of community support agencies and resources and working with Indigenous community.
Requirements (Some Training Provided by Employer)
- Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C.
- Complete the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Record Check.
- Naloxone Training
- Completion of Trauma Informed Practice
- Completion of Indigenous Awareness/Cultural Competency
- Experience in Crisis Intervention
- Completion of Domestic Violence Safety Training

- Shift 12 hour shifts (3 days on and 3 days off, 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am)
